From Farway to the Rooftops

From a young age, Philip knew he wanted to work outdoors. At 16, he gained valuable work experience with a renowned local thatcher while growing up in Farway, Devon.

Enjoying his work experience led him to continue the craft with another reputable local thatcher. Over the years, he has honed his skills, working his way up the ladder to become the regional expert he is today.

 

Philip has been a member of the National Society of Master Thatchers since 2010 and is a member and Vice Chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Master Thatcher's Association.

Philip has a remarkable reputation for excellent customer service, ensuring his client's needs are always put first. He leads a small team of thatching professionals dedicated to providing high-quality workmanship.

Philip has been a member of the National Society of Master Thatchers since 2010 and is a member and Vice Chairman of the Devon and Cornwall Master Thatcher's Association.

The Master Thatchers association was formed in 1947. Membership is gained by having work judged by the existing members, and a minimum of four years of thatching experience is required. This ensures that all members work to a set standard and are the high-quality craftsmen the thatch owner expects.
